Indicated for

Where this tool earns its place

Not the right tool for

Clients with cold intolerance, Raynaud's, or any circulatory condition where cold is contraindicated — ask before you chill it. Never apply it straight from a freezer. Not over bone, varicose veins, open wounds or fresh scar tissue.

  • Can be chilledRefrigerate before the session for a colder, sharper contact.
  • Dense tissueFour independent 55 mm cubes — edges that catch instead of gliding.
  • HygieneNon-porous: it can be washed fully and immersed in disinfectant.
  • Contrast protocolsAlternate with a wood tool for warm and cold in one session.

Technique

How to work with it

  1. 01

    Ask about cold first

Cold tolerance varies far more than pressure tolerance. Ask before the tool touches the skin, not after.

  2. 02

    Refrigerate, never freeze

Fridge-cold is a treatment. Freezer-cold on bare skin is an injury risk.

  3. 03

    Oil, then roll upward

Metal cubes on dry skin catch harder than wood ones. Always toward the nearest nodes.

  4. 04

Wash it properly — you can

This is the advantage over wood: full immersion in disinfectant between clients. Dry it completely afterwards.

Made by hand

We are the workshop, not the middleman

Every KOWÜA tool is made in our own workshop in Colombia. We cut, form and finish each piece by hand. Nothing is bought in and rebranded.

The metal line exists for one reason: it holds cold for the length of a session, and it is non-porous, so it takes the immersion disinfection that wood cannot. Where your regulations require immersion between clients, this is the line to reach for.

Buying direct means the price of the factory, custom laser engraving with your clinic’s name, and someone who can actually change the tool if you need a different profile.

Care

Cleaning and sanitising

The advantage

Metal is non-porous. Unlike wood it can be washed fully, immersed in disinfectant, and chilled before a session — which is the whole reason this line exists.

  • After each clientWash fully with mild soap and a soft sponge.
  • DisinfectBy immersion in the solution your regulations require.
  • DryTo prevent water marks. Metal tolerates the water; the finish looks better dry.
  • To use coldChill before the session. The mass holds temperature for most of an hour.

Do not autoclave. Heat cycles are unnecessary here — immersion disinfection already does the job.

Before you order

Questions we get

How do I know it is the right size?

It is 450 mm end to end. The working surface is 30 mm. Handle: 100 mm. The full specification table is above.

Can I use it on post-surgical clients?

Only with written clearance from the treating surgeon, who alone decides when a patient may progress from gentle manual lymphatic drainage to firmer tooled work. Clearance timelines vary widely between surgeons and between patients, and we publish none. Never on fresh incisions.

Does it need oil?

Yes. A dry tool on dry skin drags and bruises. Any professional massage oil works; ours are formulated to keep slip.

How long does it last?

Metal does not swell, crack or raise grain, so with normal cleaning it outlasts a wooden tool used the same way. It is the low-maintenance end of the range.

Can I really put it in disinfectant?

Yes — full immersion, which is exactly what wood cannot take. If your local regulations require immersion between clients, that is the argument for this line rather than the finish.

Will it mark the skin?

Redness and warmth during a session are expected. Bruising is not — it means too much pressure, or a tool too deep for that tissue. Treatment should never be painful.

Can I get my clinic’s name on it?

Yes. We laser-engrave logos and names from 10 pieces. See wholesale tiers and engraving.

Do you ship outside Colombia?

Yes, worldwide with tracking. For orders of 10 pieces or more we quote freight directly.

Which tool comes next?

Depends what you already have. Our wood therapy tool guide ranks every surface we make by depth and shows where each one belongs in a session.

Buying for a clinic or academy?

Mix and match any references. Discounts from 15%, custom laser engraving with your clinic’s name, and freight quoted directly so you are not paying retail rates.
