- The Contouring Metal Board (Y Shape) is designed for shaping protocols and works as the finisher of a contouring session. Its ergonomic design allows effective drainage work toward the lymphatic system on areas such as the waist, abdomen, thighs, back and legs. Worked flat and slow, the board directs fluid toward the nearest lymph nodes.

Not the right tool for
Areas with no central line to straddle — on a flat plane the fork gives you less contact than a solid board, not more. And not where cold is contraindicated. Not over bone, varicose veins, open wounds or fresh scar tissue.

How to work with it

Line the fork up first
Set the gap over the spine before you take any weight. That is the whole design.

Work it in the closing phase
Smooth edges: this directs fluid, it does not mobilise tissue.

Upward, then out to the armpits
Lower back to shoulders, then out toward the nodes.

Wash and dry it fully
Immerse, disinfect, dry — including inside the frame.

We are the workshop, not the middleman
Every KOWÜA tool is made in our own workshop in Colombia. We cut, form and finish each piece by hand. Nothing is bought in and rebranded.
The metal line exists for one reason: it holds cold for the length of a session, and it is non-porous, so it takes the immersion disinfection that wood cannot. Where your regulations require immersion between clients, this is the line to reach for.

Cleaning and sanitising
The advantage
Metal is non-porous. Unlike wood it can be washed fully, immersed in disinfectant, and chilled before a session — which is the whole reason this line exists.
- After each clientWash fully with mild soap and a soft sponge.
- DisinfectBy immersion in the solution your regulations require.
- DryTo prevent water marks. Metal tolerates the water; the finish looks better dry.
- To use coldChill before the session. The mass holds temperature for most of an hour.
Do not autoclave. Heat cycles are unnecessary here — immersion disinfection already does the job.

How do I know it is the right size?

Can I use it on post-surgical clients?
Only with written clearance from the treating surgeon, who alone decides when a patient may progress from gentle manual lymphatic drainage to firmer tooled work. Clearance timelines vary widely between surgeons and between patients, and we publish none. Never on fresh incisions.
Does it need oil?
Yes. A dry tool on dry skin drags and bruises. Any professional massage oil works; ours are formulated to keep slip.
How long does it last?
Metal does not swell, crack or raise grain, so with normal cleaning it outlasts a wooden tool used the same way. It is the low-maintenance end of the range.
Can I really put it in disinfectant?
Yes — full immersion, which is exactly what wood cannot take. If your local regulations require immersion between clients, that is the argument for this line rather than the finish.
Will it mark the skin?
Redness and warmth during a session are expected. Bruising is not — it means too much pressure, or a tool too deep for that tissue. Treatment should never be painful.
