- Tight stacked rings, shallower than the ribbed
- Grip without the bite — for less tolerant tissue
- Solid urapán (Fraxinus uhdei) — a dense hardwood that holds an edge

How to work with it
- 01
Warm first
This is not an opening tool. Use a smooth roller before it, or you are asking cold tissue to take texture.
- 02
Prepare the skin
Enough oil that the rings glide. Fine rings drag more than a smooth barrel if the skin is dry.
- 03
Work upward
Roll toward the nearest nodes, letting your body weight give the pressure rather than your wrists.
- 04
Then drain
Return to a smooth surface or a board to move what you loosened.
