The back, the hip and the buttock carry the densest tissue on the body. A ribbed roller warms it; this one gets underneath. Each 90 mm disc carries eight nubs that concentrate load as they turn.

Where this tool earns its place
Not the right tool for
Face, neck, breast tissue, thin or fragile skin, or directly over bone, varicose veins, open wounds or fresh scar tissue. This is the most aggressive tool in the range — it is not a starting tool.

Technique
How to work with it
- 01
Warm first, always
Never open with this tool. The tissue has to be prepared or the nubs bruise instead of releasing.
- 02
Oil heavily
Eight nubs per disc and 12 mm of reach. This is the tool that punishes a dry surface hardest.
- 03
Let it roll
Do not press and drag. The nubs work as they turn — forcing them turns depth into trauma.
- 04
Drain thoroughly
Deep work releases a lot. Close with a smooth tool toward the nodes, longer than you think.

Made by hand
We are the workshop, not the middleman
Every KOWÜA tool is turned on our own lathes. We select the timber, cut it, turn it, sand it through progressive grits and finish it by hand. Nothing is bought in and rebranded.
Nubs are the hardest shape to get right. Twelve millimetres of reach with a tip rounded enough not to cut — a fraction sharper and it stops being therapy. Every tip is checked by hand.
Buying direct means you get the price of the factory, custom laser engraving with your clinic's name, and someone who can actually change the tool if you need a different profile.
Care
Cleaning and sanitising
Never
Do not autoclave, do not soak, do not put it in a dishwasher and do not leave it submerged in disinfectant. Wood is porous — immersion swells the fibre, raises the grain and will crack the piece.
- After each clientWipe around the base of every nub. That is where residue builds.
- Disinfect70% alcohol on the surface, then let it air-dry completely.
- StoreDry and flat, away from direct heat and sun.
If a nub ever feels rough, a light pass with fine sandpaper following the curve restores it. That is the advantage of an unvarnished finish: it can be renewed, and there is no coating to chip into a client's skin.

How do I know it is the right size?
550 mm end to end with 120 mm of handle each side. The discs are 90 mm across and each nub stands 12 mm proud.
Is this too aggressive for my clients?
For some, yes — and that is the honest answer. It is built for dense tissue on the back, hip and buttock. On thin or sensitive skin, a ribbed roller is the right choice.
Can I use it first in the session?
No. Warm the area with something lighter first. Opening with this tool is the most common way people bruise a client.
Can I use it on post-surgical clients?
Only in later stages, with clearance, and never as the first mechanical contact on the area. This is the last tool to introduce, not the first.
